Postium Korea OBM-U090 Overview
Monitor your 4K studio or field production with the OBM-U090 9" HDR 4K 12G-SDI LCD Monitor from Postium Korea. With full input support for signals up to 4K60, the OBM-U090 offers 1920 x 1080 display resolution and a 176° viewing angle, with a brightness of 400 cd/m² and a 700:1 contrast ratio. It features four 12G-SDI inputs, which can be used as single-link inputs for resolutions up to DCI 4K and four 12G-SDI loop outputs allow you to send up to four separate signals to other destinations. An HDMI 2.0 input and an SFP optical input provide additional options for bringing in video with embedded audio, and a 3.5mm line input offers analog stereo connectivity. A 3.5mm analog stereo output allows you to monitor sound via optional headphones. The OBM-U090 also supports analog component and composite inputs and comes with its own power cord.
- Display Functions
Wide Color Space support, including DCI-P3 and ITU-R BT.2020, is controlled with an advanced 3D LUT (Look Up Table) to reproduce various color spaces accurately with smooth, artifact-free grayscale steps. Available color gamuts are DCI-P3, ITU-R BT.2020, ITU-R BT.709, SMPTE-C, EBU, and Native.
- Custom 3D LUT File Import
The OBM-U090 allows you to import 3D LUTs for accurate and consistent color matching between individual displays as well as using customized looks that have been created by third-party color-grading applications. LUTs that can be loaded include Log-C, C-Log, S-Log2, S-Log3, and J-Log1.
- High Dynamic Range Emulation
High Dynamic Range (HDR) Emulation applies a High Dynamic Range display gamma curve to HDR content with support for PQ EOTF (SMPTE ST 2084), Hybrid Log Gamma, and S-Log3. Postium's HDR function allows users to view both highlights and shadow details within scenes simultaneously, thus resulting in more natural and realistic reproduction. HDR and SDR (standard dynamic range) images may be simultaneously displayed.
- Features at a Glance
Focus Assist controls the aperture level of a video signal and displays images on the screen with sharpened edges to help camera focus operation.
False Color indicates the luma (Y) level of the input image. If a certain Y level is set, the pixels with the designated Y level are displayed with a zebra pattern or a color pattern. There are multiple display modes: Zebra, Variable, ARRI, and Comparison.
Gamut Error Type can be observed in 3 modes:
- Type 1: When the targeted color space is selected as BT.709, the pixels outside of the targeted color space are displayed as Black Zebra. The pixels over Y Maximum, Chroma Maximum, and RGB Maximum are displayed as Black Zebra, and the pixels below Y Minimum, Chroma Minimum, and RGB Minimum are also displayed as Black Zebra.
- Type 2: When the targeted color space is selected as BT.709, the pixels outside of the targeted color space are displayed as Black or White Zebra. The pixels over Y Maximum, Chroma Maximum, and RGB Maximum are displayed as Black Zebra, and the pixels below Y Minimum, Chroma Minimum, and RGB Minimum are displayed as White Zebra.
- Type 3: Mono, when the targeted color space is selected as BT.709, the pixels inside of the targeted color space are displayed as Mono, and the pixels outside of the targeted color space are displayed as the color. In this type, black and white area is not recognized.
Black Stretch increases visibility in dark areas without degradation of image quality in bright areas. This mode can be used to increase shadow detail without changing absolute black level and without affecting mid-tones.
4K HDR Waveform Monitor and Vector Scope Display modes enable users to monitor sources using the internal Waveform and Vector Scope individually or simultaneously. The position of Waveform and Vector Scope can be moved between Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Right, and Bottom Left.
Adjustable Gamma control allows for incremental compensation between gamma correction values of 1.0 and 3.0 - thereby ensuring that the decoded image isn't too bright (no gamma correction) or too dark (overcorrection).
Various frame markers and mattes are available, including aspect, area, and center markers. In addition, the detailed display settings of each marker are allowed. For example, the color, brightness, horizontal/vertical position, and thickness of aspect markers can all be adjusted.
Input Signal Format Support
The monitor is equipped with standard 12G/6G/3G/HD-SDI input interfaces and support for 4K Quad-Link 2-Sample Interleave signals and 4K Quad-Link Square Division signals. Resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 at 24, 25, 30, 50, and 60 fps and 4096 x 2160 at 24, 25, 30, 50, and 60 fps are supported.
- Single-Link 4K/12G
- Dual-Link 2-Sample Interleave (2SI) up to 2160p60.
- Quad-Link 2 Sample Interleave (2SI) uses four quarter resolution full-frame sub-images and alternates the samples every two pixels and every line rather than splitting the image into four quadrants.
- Quad-Link Square Division. Each link contains one quarter square of the original image.
